TEMECULA : Longtime city manager announces retirement
http://www.nctimes.com/news/local/temecula/article_98c41df3-33dc-55ac-abaa-8221f6ec16a2.html
Letter to editor in the Californian.
Is Temecula the new Bell?
Call me cold and heartless, but something is seriously wrong when Temecula's city manager can be paid around $300,000 a year, work for a little over 10 years, retire at 51 and get paid over $136,000 for the next 50 years if he is lucky enough to live that long ("Longtime city manager announces retirement," June 16).Sure, it's a tough job, but all jobs are tough. Where do you get a job where you can live off the taxpayers for the rest of your life? We can't possibly afford such perks.
Temecula may not be the city of Bell, but apparently, it's pretty darn close.
