HILL The tea party movement started with a Washington focus. But as the November elections approach, the populist conservative movement is increasingly in the backdrop of the nation's city council races. In the Inland area, the tea party's impact on local elections is most visible in conservative southwest Riverside County, where council elections feature candidates who call themselves members of the tea party movement or promote its message of low taxes, controlled spending and anti-incumbency. The Freedom March Parade after Parade was put together in two days. We had a turnout of about 25 people but made a hugh impact and got very positive reactions! Before the parade, Darrell Issa saw one of the signs and came by. He spoke with Gertie and Ed. He is sending us a box of constitutions to pass out. Attached are pictures Diana took of Darrell, Pam and Gertie. During the parade, many, many people from the floats, gave us the thumbs up! The military, police and fire departments reacted to the signs with thumbs ups, wave and even yells. Several from Temecula Tea Party came over and we followed the parade. Everyone except maybe a handful, gave us a very positive reaction. Pam's sign got the most positive reaction! We did get many people watching the parade to join in with us too. We had one of the organizers of the Temecula Parade come up to us as we were following the street cleaner in our Freedom March. She told us we could not be in the parade because we were not an entry. We told her we were the Parade after the Parade. A few minutes later we saw her with about 8 police officers. Yes we continued on and not one police officer said anything to us.
